In Port of Port Townsend, all things can happen…
You turn a corner to find this view…
You can come and build a wooden boat at the Port Townsend Maritime Center…
Or you can sail it!
You can walk across the street from your house, and find the path that will guide your steps along the side of the legendary Kah-Tai Lagoon.

The Kah-Tai Lagoon is the original site where the aboriginal tribes of the area would (and still do today!) gather every year.
Yet, not far, you can go walk the woodsy lands of Quilcene…Beauty all over…
At Kah-Tai lagoon, the aboriginal tribes used to gather to heal – in the Sacred Energy that even today, compels many who still vividly experience such special energy in this area…

The “Ancients” also came here to trade; and, in a different way, even today, you can find true treasures in the hand-picked selection of the Native American stores…
If your preference aims for Victorian treasures you’ll be pleased to find those in the very interesting several Antique Stores…or delights of all sorts in the many Art Galleries, and fun, original and becoming pieces of clothing, for decorating, for your very personal space, or for the kitchen and the home, in the diverse and splendid owner operated boutiques.
By the side of the Lagoon, you can sit and feed the ducks, or observe the blue herring, tirelessly standing on one leg -and, every year- the many other exotic birds flying over your head –sometimes including the mighty flight of the majestic eagle.
For many birds of the world, this is their yearly migration path. A migration path of theirs, that you can share, over the Kah-Tai Lagoon-park.
As a bird watcher, you’ll enjoy the finch, the magnificent blue jay-bird, the robins, in yards as well as the Kah-Tai Lagoon; and always the ducks and the seagulls, living and playing in that area!
Even you could walk all the way, amongst the splendid tall ….. and small bushes yellow with perfumed spring blossoms. At the end of your walk, you would just need to cross a street named “Kearny” to find the glorious one-of-a-kind-Food Co-op…For a revitalizing fresh juice, a tasty soup or a one-of-a-kind salad from the Deli… Not only this… you might enjoy going just for the joy of their scented, colorful organic –and mostly- local fruits, herbs and vegetables. Always a pleasure.
Of course, if you wanted to keep on walking, you could also enjoy sidewalks, sometime bursting with small bright yellow flowers, capable of emerging from the smallest cracks on the cement -as well as from any yard or flower container, on your way to Down Town.
Poppies of all colors will greet you on your short way …And, if you are going Up Town (where we have interesting stores another Victorian Movie House, and several gourmet restaurants, also to stimulate your curiosity) You’ll be very pleased with the blooming gardens you’ll see on your way…not to speak of the Victorian architecture, the lovely old trees, and the view of the Puget Sound waters on three sides of the town.
Spring in Port Townsend is colorful (in many ways) scented, rich in experiences for all the senses, and very fun for the sport lover, the gourmand, the artist, the Nature lover and the Architect and historian in you!
