And the awaited speaker Joe Finney, awaits -just next to his dear wife, Cindy… and his conference is interesting at all levels…
Hence ubiquitous City Mayor Michelle Sandoval waits as well, enjoying a sip…
Ready to listen to the people of “her” City…
Jennifer, discreet and quiet sees to all details being cared for…
Then comes Joe… well prepared with stats in hand and much experience -as owner of the very successful Bishop and the Swan Hotels, Down Town Port Townsend…
He tells us that we, the Hospitality Industry represent the 60% of the taxpool, with 336 rooms…
He addresses the past, the present, and the future of our industry in town, when 3 more hospitality entities join our services in Port Townsend -possibly within the next 3 years. He talks of the Colombia Hospitality, and the Hasting Building being remodeled.
But he mentions that only looking -and understanding- what is happening around us. Only well interpreting the new quality and eco-”green” oriented trends of the younger hospitality clients, we will not only stay abreast; but do well.
This reporter asked the speaker if he saw an asset-to-be-discovered in the need other newer establishments will have to advertise and promote themselves when new in town…And if he too thought that can benefit us all, since it will bring new segments of tourism to our town…He agreed.
Much applause, and the raffle of a beautifully ornated miniature rhododendron were the the “happy ending” to this very well presented lecture.
