Dan and Kristy came from Oregon to Port Townsend to hear their musician son playing  as part of the Jazz Festival, at Centrum…Agostino, husband of Flavia and father of Claudia, is a Jazz Producer in New York -who was not aware there is all this much music going on in Port Townsend!

Lovely surprises for everyone here!

At the breakfast table, Claudia wore a lovely pajama, and shared with me that she, her parents and Robert, yesterday had much enjoyed  caressing our “wild” kitty “Morusa”…While some deer were also visiting our garden…attracted by the our few rose buds left (other deer have also come to delight their discriminating palates with our tender roses ; )

As it turns out, Lori’s (left) son performed today in our Port Townsend Fort Warden Park -as a musician – part of the renowned annual Centrum’s Jazz Festival…http://www.centrum.org/jazz/ This speaks to us about his quality ; )…Only the “creme of the creme” make it to this annual Festival…Congratulations Lori! ; )

She shared the fun with Jan and Larry -her family members  (both old AT&T timers! ) Who really must have excelled and enjoyed their endeavors there, since Larry’s kindness, at the slightest provocation, gladly showed me the ways around my new android phone in a joyful, clear way…I consider to have received from him a precious gift of better understanding of my new tool…

The three traveled all the way from Oregon for the very special occasion, of happily surprising Lori’s son!

Oh, how we would have liked to continue our lively conversations!…Yet, the concert was at noon today. Soooo, we had to “cut it short” -until next time! : D

We suspect they had a fantastic  concert experience, and a great trip back home!

In their old days in Mendocino CA. they were fans of a special artist…a  pianist…And now, they came to find out that he is playing at our very own “Olympic Music Festival”…  http://www.olympicmusicfestival.org/index.php?page=home Of course they came to hear him -and pleasantly surprise him “catching” him in WA. as well!!!

Bob, Carol and Carolyn, their family, are also seasoned travelers of the world, now aiming for new horizons at the sea!…They fancy moving into a 40 feet boat to best enjoy the area, and roam the world even further…

This morning, at Huber’s INN Port Townsend… : )

For us, this morning started in  excellent, fun, company and conversation with  Maggie and Fred -from Toronto, Canada…We learned that immediately prior to their arrival to PT, they were enjoying one of their favorite passtimes: Travel!!!…They came to PT directly from a lovely cruise to warm (!) Alaska!

Darling two more handsome couples to honor us with their preference…After breakfast, just time for a hug, and  off they went to explore the beauty of the Olympic National Park!

Also, from beautiful and faraway lands to lovely Seattle…and yesterday to beautiful PT!… The Wangs love their traveling… Their conversation is also quite fun and extremely interesting!…It ranges from fascinating business, to cooking and diets! -Particularly to find out, first hand, about the efficiency of that diet called “Dukan” diet… He has followed it recently, and is pleased : )…The experience is obviously successful -as far as we can tell (and are the good results “catchy” ? ; ) for the both of them look great and slender!  hahaha!!! ; )

Probably my basic thought is that “life is an experiment”!…Hence creativity is the limit!

This applied to our cooking tonight, will render us some lovely beets, potato, yellow beets, yam, jicama savory chips!!!

.

Enough to peel these roots (or other you might prefer), slightly “bathe” them in clarified butter (also known as Ghee) -no substitutions here: for flavor AND for health: Ghee is like olive oil, capable of lubricating the body and cleansing the arteries, while deliciously delighting the most demanding palates : D

.

We now just have to turn on the dehydrator and “hold on to our hats” until tomorrow!!!…mmmmmm….yummmmm!!!!All our roots -in the tray there is the jicama- came (as usual!) fresh from our splendid  Port Townsend Co-Op : )

Here a combo of yams and jicama slices…Down there, the jewel of the red beets!Here down, a little gold beet…Mmmmmmhhhhhmmmm!!!

Now, the “master touch”…I get to turn on the dehydrator!!!…hahaha!!!…(Looking forward to tomorrow! : )

“How to”

Slice the roots as finely as you  wish (we sliced like 0.5 millimeter thick each)

Accommodate them in your dehydrator trays.

Slightly salt, and ad a little pepper to one of the trays.

Sweeten some, instead, with wonderous -and natural- xylitol : )

Turn on your dehydrator through the night AAAAANNNNDDDD….!!!!
