LIVABLE ART in the Glorious Spaces of THE CLAM CANNERY HOTEL, in Port Townsend

CIMG7379The original flavor of the brick work, frames the beauty of this old wooden door -and window.

CIMG7382That invites you to enter and savor the details in everything you encounter in this elegantl Livable Art Space…

CIMG7380Here the testimony of the times honored in this impeccable architectural project…

CIMG7378Its front entry links you clearly to a past of commercial ships, and canneries of  freshly fished clams of the area…

CIMG7383but the insides spark with the incomparable elegance of fine workmanship -whether in the woods of windows, floors and furniture…

CIMG7384or applied in metals, magnificient flower vases or stones of marvel!…

CIMG7391Each a different living- art expression…

CIMG7397

Many words have been said about this place extraordinaire…but there is no description that conveys the refreshing feeling of peace, of loving care and comfort you feel within this spaces…

CIMG7386Whether an immaculate, luxurious, nesting bed in the finest woods (caressed a thousand times by loving artisan’s hands)

CIMG7388

Or the double Travertino sinks -that  honor old European traditions, with the simple elegance of a Nordic design…

CIMG7394

Or the hand-hammered copper doors -true sculptures that welcome you into your space in the Clam Cannery Hotel

CIMG7396

The maximum finesse in a lamp or a painting…

CIMG7402The furniture art pieces -that offer the magic of their texture and hand craftsmanship… And the windows!

CIMG7403Such views from the windows!…

CIMG7405Such views from your bed!…

CIMG7407

Each space different from the other…

CIMG7408Even the “extra bed” is a feast of luxury and comfort…

CIMG7409

While  the kitchen contrasts wood, glass and metals in a true symphony of simple perfection…

CIMG7417All details honored. All details thought…

CIMG7418And the eternal magic of the waters, is celebrated in this rare combination of hand crafted metals…

CIMG7419Local Star Fish and other local beach shells, with the power of glass -thick as the length of my thumb-  to embrace them and hold them as part of this dream of love applied. Of art made livable. Of infinite care. Of sincere welcome.

This historical place that the heart and minds of Kevin Harris, and his wife Rebecka have created out of inspiration, determination, love of our City and love of art, materials and people, compares to any five star place in the world…and its beauty -and affordability amongst the dream-places in the world,  is their gift to Port Townsend.

CelebratingTim Siemer’s B☼Day at the Huber’s INN Morning Table…

CIMG7063

Being Tim’s birthday, Robert Huber presented their breakfast table with his special “Carved Pineapple” – after we all had sung the “H.A.P.P.Y.” song with gusto!

CIMG7053

For him an Impressionist version of the view from the INN’s windows -with the 2 swans that have graced our lagoon this year!

(And since the PT Kinetic Festival is coming next month… to further celebrate,  we promise you a pic/video of the  P.T. Kinetic Sculpture Parade here pretty soon!  ; )

Ida and Caitlin at The Huber’s INN Morning Table…

CIMG7049At the Huber’s INN morning table, Ida and Caitlin, bring true friendship into their natural Auntie-Niece relationship!.

It’s lovely that they chose our Port Townsend to celebrate that frienship with a “gold closure” -after their trip from the Takoma area to the west side of the Olympic Peninsula, aiming for Forks, in Jefferson County, WA.

In Forks, the  idea was to personally see the “Twilight” places that good looking vampires!…and Bella Swans’ do prefer..

We much en-joyed meeting them : )

@ Huber’s Inn morning table: Felix, Elke, Fridtjof (12), Wiebke(10),Florian (8), Erika (4) Stelter

CIMG6985

The Stelters came from Germany to camp amongst the impressive beauty of our Olympic National Park -via Port Townsend ; )

After breakfast at Huber’s INN, they went to visit Down Town, and (maybe) Up Towns Farmer’s Market.

From there, our Washington parks were luring them -from Germany, towards a much looked forward experience. A memory for a lifetime, perhaps?

And, from the living magic of Nature, a pretty scenic car trip to San Francisco, as a closing.

We know they’ll have a wonder-full trip!

Delightful to have met them : )
